Volume+ v1.8.1.0 Beta
Hey everyone!
I received my Galaxy Nexus yesterday and have been working on a more ICS ‘optimised’ version for you all (It should work better on Gingerbread/Honeycomb too)!
There’s nothing massively exciting that’s been added but it should be a nice improvement over 1.8.0.6.
A list of updates can be found below!
What’s New?
- Attempt at some ICS optimisations
- Added a check for phones with ICS (takes you to sound settings to enable Volume+ in Meida Effects)
- App starts differently (should be more reliable)
- App should be more ‘persistant’ (see above)
- EQ values completely changed
- Volume levels completely changed
- Higher volumes now available (up to +20)
- Louder volumes should now be attainable
- EQ Band frequencies now shown
Known Bugs
- Virtual Room effects don’t currently work on ICS (investigating)
- Occasionally a blank ‘Volume+’ page will appear (not sure why)
If you encounter any bugs, It would be much appreciated if you could tell me about them by filling out the form below!

Excellent app. Completely fixed my volume issues on Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Thanks for sharing this app with the world.
I can’t get this app to work at all on my gnex. No matter what settings i put, there’s no changes. I’m using the aokp rom. Could that be the issue??
Boswell: have you double checked Volume+ is correctly checked in Music effects?
I had same issue.
Yeah its properly checked. I have done everything I could think of and can’t get it to work
Still waiting for a fix for the lack of volume change in the Galaxy Nexus. I wrote you about this problem when the update was released. We would like some help for an app we paid for.
Work in CM7?
Email that app to your mailbox and download within nexus

Good grief. Please consider moderating and deleting the countless spam comments. I’m actually hoping to find useful info and updates in the comments, but almost all we have here is that weird congratulatory spam.
Hi Aaron,
Meltus has dragged me, kicking and screaming (okay, that’s an outright lie, I offered) to help him with the spam on here.
So, hopefully, given a week to get my head around the works of this place, there’s be less tin based meat all over the place.
Oh, Meltus has just told me it’s the other spam. Right. Okay, that’s probably much easier to remove.
Works perfect on the Galaxy nexus —Fixed the volume issue
Worked perfectly on the Asus EEE Pad Transformer after upgrading to Android Revolution HD (ICS).
Thanks a bunch! Get it in the market and I’ll buy it.
Hi Jay,
The latest stable build is in the Android Market here.
Cheers,

Hi,
I have a stock Galaxy Nexus (running ICS 4.0.3) and less than 24 hours after each reboot of the phone, Volume+ stops working and the volume returns to its old (low) level. After that, there nothing brings the volume boost back, except a reboot. Then Volume+ works well again. Do you have any idea why this happens.
This happened both before my phone was rooted and after I rooted it.
I’m using the v1.8.1.0 that I’ve downloaded from the link above.
Any idea why this happens?
Leonid
